A young woman jumped out a second story window after being sexually assaulted early Sunday morning at her home near the University of Minnesota campus, according to Minneapolis Police.
Police said a 20-year-old woman was confronted by a stranger in her residence on the 1000 block of 15th Avenue S.E. The woman was sexually assaulted and then fled out of a second story window, breaking her ankle from the fall. Police said she then ran to a neighbor's house to report the assault.
Minneapolis police are investigating this recent incident.
On April 26, an 18-year-old female student was sexually assaulted in Pioneer Hall, a campus dorm building.
According to police, one suspect grabbed the victim and pulled her into the restroom on the third floor of the dorm. A second suspect held her down while the first suspect assaulted her. Police said the attackers ran and the young woman got help from a friend in the building.
Police have not arrested anyone in the April 26 incident. They do not believe Sunday's incident is related to the assault in April.
The perps know that they won't pay the price, so they continue to offend on a weekly basis.
Don’t try to make this about guns. You’re hijacking a thread before it even gets started.
Parents pay $40,000 a year to these colleges so their girls can get raped?
When are these colleges going to be FORCED to provide adequate security?
This has been going on since Ted Bundy raped tortured and killed girls in their college dorms in the 1970’s.
Well, then it isn’t a hijack, is it? I think the article’s poster should be allowed some discretion as to what to say in post #1 for having gone to the trouble of posting the article. If we weren’t allowed to editorialize about stories posted here, why would FR be the active discussion site that it is?
Forceable rape should carry the death penalty.
The Second Amendment is a Womans Rights Issue.
Don’t allow your children to go to these institutions which allow them to be victimized. Commuter colleges are an economical answer. Don’t let your children live in dormitories. They are asylums for insane predators parading as a diverse intellectual community, and have been fotr many years.
No, parents don’t pay tuition so their girls can get raped. That was an uncalled-for slam at the school.
Please, let’s look at this awful story for what it is: the story of a sexual predator who is preying on that campus and needs to be caught.
When you’ve got that many students living in close proximity, the great majority of them good young people, it’s hard to spot a pervert.
Moreover, college kids are by nature trusting. They don’t lock doors, they mix freely and don’t expect a new acquaintance to be a criminal. It’s an easy environment for abuse, even with the best official security procedures in place.
I have no doubt whatsoever that both the university and the students are highly alarmed and doing whatever they can to provide security and, more importantly, to catch the perp.
This is not the norm. Don’t blame the victims, and that includes the university in this case.
Sorry. You are correct. It is not a hijack. It’s just an unfortunate attempt to twist a story for a personal agenda.
Obviously there’s not enough interest in increasing security.
Well, it is about guns, at least indirectly. One pull of the trigger would have stopped the assault.
Are we supposed to draw any conclusions from the fact that college girls are raped in their student housing, or not? If so, what? Please enlighten us, but without injecting any of your own personal agenda as the rest of us tend to do.
The leftists sure are against choice when it comes to letting women choose to defend themselves.
where is the description of the rapists?
Many schools do deserve to be slammed for lax security and a trust for way out of the ordinary persons, and an obvious preference for foreign students who think their own laws should prevail over America’s laws.
“Dont try to make this about guns. Youre hijacking a thread before it even gets started.”
It’s my thread and it’s all about the fact that the University of Minnesota has become a hotbed of crime because it is a gun free zone and the perps know it.
Just like the Uptown crimes in the past couple of years.
The opportunist criminals know that MN uptowners are liberals with no permits, let alone, guns.
Don’t try to make this about your pals with their dew-rags.
LOL! The fundamental of the story is about a thug pig that took advantage of a defenseless woman. Had the woman took it upon herself to mount an effective defense against such a vicious pig, she wouldn't have been subject to the sexual assault and had to jump out a second story window. I think she should have gutted the pig with a Buck Special and told the authorities to shove it if they had any complaints.
If the young lady was armed And pulled the trigger at the right time the "perp" would already be caught.
What’s a dew-rag?
The story was not twisted in any way. Sometimes reality supports certain agendas. Learn to deal with that.
