The police chief in Riverdale accidentally shot himself in an ankle while demonstrating how to dislodge a jammed handgun.

At least that gun ain't jammed no more.

I'm sure the trainees got a lot out of this exercise. Sometimes a lesson on how not to do something is more effective than a lesson on how to do it right.

And Liberals say only the police should have guns.

They have FAR more negligent discharges than citizens do who shoot much more often than they do.

first, he should be put in the local psych hospital for a mandatory 72 hour hold for this attempted suicide, then he should be charged with, unlawful discharge of a firearm, negligent use of a firearm, wreckless endangerment, attempted assault with a deadly weapon. I think 10-15 years in State Prison should be appropriate. If it were you or I thats what would happen.

Probably demonstrating one handed clearance technique.

You mean the one where you keep firing until the slide locks back? ;)

A prime example of why assault weapons should be banned.

If people were to follow these rules they would eliminate accidents:

Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction

Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot

Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use
