McCain was the only top tier candidate of either party who couldn’t win the primary in his state with more than 50% of the vote. He received 48% of the vote in AZ. And McCain became the presumptive nominee of the party with only 31% of the primary vote, ie., just prior to the Potomac primary.
Hmmm...
You’d think the GOP set up the system to see conservatives, then then nominee, fail.
