Reporting live from the McCarthy hearings, Helen Thomas. Here's the latest lunacy from the perennial FR favorite newsbabe. Ain't she a peach?

When Islamicists cut off people's heads, somehow that doesn't rise to the level of "torture". Now If they would only cut off Helen's head, that would end my torture.

Wow, all she had to do was change the President’s words to mean the one thing he has expressly stated over and over that he wasn’t saying and she had a story. I’m wondering why journalists have such a hard time coming up with stories if this is all you have to do.

It’s like the wicked witch of the west and yoda had a child. And then that child melted a bit.

Hearing her or seeing her also constitutes torture. What are we to do?

I notice that these articles about torture never really specifically mention the torture method except for waterboarding. Shouldn’t a journalist mention the methods of torture if they are going to do an entire article on torture?

The U.S. government's torture policy is going to come back to bite us. It's yet another expansion of government power, and this policy will be thrown back in our face when our troops are similarly abused by a lawless regime.

But any policy that prompts its defenders to make comparisons to Jack Bauer must have serious consideration behind it, right?

Talk about torture...

Does the Geneva Convention cover things like having to look at photos like this?

And we're not even POWs.  Isn't this a human rights violation????

All kidding aside, this woman went over the edge decades ago.

Any publication that would put this woman's thoughts into print, has already destoryed it's on credibility.

Bush has not approve of torture, and I have yet to see any evidence actual torture has take place even once.

I see you also approve of the use of torture.

1) What is startling is that he feels no remorse about the cruel image he has created for America -- and the damage done to its credibility and probity.

2) Powell had been on record warning against U.S. torture policies on the basis that if we mistreat our prisoners, foreign countries will feel no qualms about abusing American captives in wartime.

Regarding #1 - all I can say is BS. Has this ugly woman asked any of Bin Laden's group how much remorse they feel for all that they have inflicted upon the country of Afghanistan (before our military campaign there) or upon locations around the globe? Regarding #2 - Can anyone show me evidence that our soldiers and civilians would be treated any differently than they have been were we to not use "aggressive" interrogation methods? Can anyone give evidence that in past wars our enemies have used non-torturous methods in their treatment of our PoW's? Do we not have enough evidence that the alternative is the reality of dealing with these vermin? Helen Thomas deserves being put through a waterboarding session.
