Lord knows I'm no Ron "Senior Moment" Paul supporter... but this is just flat-out w-r-o-n-g wrong.

If the delegates were fairly elected, by the party's own pre-existing rules, at the time of said election: then going back, weeks or months later, and retroactively "purging" them is Stalinist behavior on the party's part.

“That’s because the brownshirts err paultards have openly stated on their message boards that they will infiltrate the state conventions in order to rig the national convention in favor of that two faced lying cut and run coward from Texas.

In other words they seek to undermine the will of the people.”

That last line bears repeating long and loudly.

No, it’s not the will of the people. It’s the will of the democrats, independents and media. Neither is Paul the will of Republicans by a long shot. Unfortunately, none of this matters now, does it? We’ve been so screwed we’ve disappeared into the wood and just an empty-looking hole shows where we were. I’m in Missouri and they don’t have to show me.

Only out of political convenience.

Look at all the stuff Bush ( and his Kool Aid drinkers here on FR) got away with simply because of the letter behind his name.

Say what you will about Paul and the Paulestinians, he was the only one consistently advocating smaller government.

Thanks for your comments.

This is not an isolated incident, and it is not just Ron Paul Republicans who are crying foul. A good friend of mine (who has been a solid Republican for 25 years and a well respected local leader) attended his county convention in Texas as a Huckabee alternate delegate. He is NOT a Ron Paul supporter. He witnessed the local party hacks break the rules, cut off debate, and refuse to even discuss legitimate traditional conservative platform amendments brought up by RP delegates.

No prob. As stated, I'n certainly in no way, shape or form a Ron Paul -- and there are any number of his supporters hereabouts, doubtless, who will be more than willing to attest to that fact! ;) -- but: going back, weeks/months after the fact, and retroactively declaring literally hundreds of duly elected party delegates "non-persons," when they've (evidently) violated no applicable or existing rule(s) is rank Boss Tweed-ism at its unconscionable and indefensible.

The MO State Republican Party needs to back away from their current planned course of action.

This is NOT the way to do things.

Cripes. Make that "at its most unconscionable and indefensible."

Bedtime, maybe, I think. ;)

Is Missouri a winner take all state? Many states are winner take all, and require delegates to vote for whomever has the majority if that person has over XX%. I can understand the ‘oath’ (as some call it) if these people don’t plan to follow the rules and just create havoc.

Nothing like a bunch of whiny Ron Paul supporters to cry foul, when they have done everything to be disruptive, rude and infringe on the rights of other voters ever since the surrender monkey announced his steroid pumped Pat Buchanan run for the presidency.

I love seeing righteous indignation over John f#$&ing McCain, of all people, being screwed with. These next 6 months are going to be hilarious.

Amen to your comment, with one correction: it is SELF-righteous indignation, not righteous indignation...

We've found common political cause, at long and awful last. Surely, these are the end times.

Hold me. ;)

Ha! For what it's worth, I've always enjoyed your illegal immigration posts (unless I'm mixing you up with another Kent).

As I have yet to run into any other Kents on the illegal immigration threads, hereabouts: that would almost assuredly be me, yes. ;) And, truth be told: I've always liked your sense of humor, as well.

As well they should. If you are not going to support the nominee then you shouldn’t be in the party.

Just keep on sticking your head in the sand and overlook the FACTS about the village idiot.

He DENOUNCED his membership with the Republican Party, and came crawling back when he realized that he needed the precious little “R” next to his name to get re-elected.

“he was the only one consistently advocating smaller government.”

BS!

IF he wanted smaller government then WHY would he support NAFTA and the so-called “One World Government” types by requesting an earmark of 35 MILLION dollars to go to the Trans Texas Corridor AKA Interstate 69 AKA NAFTA Super Highway?

Thats not to mention the earmarks to renovate a movie theater or to impliment a child database and tracking system or to upgrade a transit system amongst other things.

IF he wanted smaller government then why is he against every measure to get control over our borders knowing full well that the illegals who come across are a major drag on our society in that WE THE TAXPAYERS foot the bill for their medical bills, their education, and whatever government handouts they recieve?
