In "A cunning stunt," we posted Jim Hoft's report regarding the dirty trick played on John McCain at a town hall meeting last week by Obama supporter Marty Parrish. Parrish has been described in reports about the incident as a Baptist minister. We doubt it. At the conclusion of our post, John Hinderaker added: "If that jerk is a Baptist minister, I'm the Pope."
Late last night we recevied a two-word message from Parrish with the heading "Hi." The message reads: "Pope John." In other words, Parrish asserts that he is a Baptist minister. In his interview with John Gibson (audio below, via Johnny Dollar's Place), Parrish describes himself as "a licensed Baptist minister." He does not even claim to be an ordained minister. He appears to be a politically active Iowa businessman. I've written Parrish to ask him where he was ordained and what church he serves.

You are exactly correct. That IS the word the licensed minister used when he asked McCain that question. Hasn’t anyone heard the tape of the man asking the question?
Hotair has the video.

So this bozo has a kids "license" to be a minister!?! I have a sheriff's badge that came with the cap guns I got when I was five. Can arrest him?
Did you ever hear the one about the girl’s soccert team and a tribe of Pygmies ?
Rats. I thought this was an announcement that Metallica had a new CD out.
Fred Phelps makes the same claim.
For that matter, Reverend Jeremiah Bullhorn's replacement at Obama'a church, Rev. Otis Moss III, "served as pastor of the historic Tabernacle Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia."
Seemingly "Baptist minister" doesn't have the same meaning it did when I was growing up.
If he’s broke, then he should get a real job. That’s generally how one gets $$.
As for putting his personal info on the internets, he really must be a moron. (Not that it isn’t already known). As for the story itself, I see no need to make a big kerfuffle about it. McCain has done at least a few hundred townhall meetings, and I’m sure that he’s dealt with more than his share of moronic questions.
If I were McCain, I'd have answered the question with the question, "How is that relevant to a Presidential campaign?"
If I were McCain, I then would have given the nod to the security people who must have been in attendance and then engaged this person in further banter until he could be removed. Simple play.
