Fortunately for Chrisitianity, these attacks are typically weak and lacking in supporting evidence and usually rest on a severe twisting of history, such as Dan Brown's books.

I don't believe 'fortune' has anything to do with it. Christianity is a religion of faith. Nothing yet has been able to penetrate what the Bible has claimed, and it's doubtful anything will. After all, what we have is man's opinion, not fact.

Christianity has, and will, stand on its own merits. One either receives the Holy Spirit, one one doesn't. Those who don't will always question and criticize, but it means nothing.

I agree. I used the word "fortunately" because these modern attacks are so pathetically lacking in any credibility.

And, although I agree that Faith is important to Christianity, it is also well supported by Reason, as shown by the eloquent apologetics of G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, and Francis Schaeffer. God wants your heart and your mind.
