I missed everything. All I want to know is...
Who vets the candidates, where’s Obama’s birth certificate (since we’re talking Mc’s citizenship), where is the documentation for the name change to Barry Soetoro in Indonesia, where’s the change back, does he hold Kenyan citizenship as well (automatic through father regardless of birthplace), if so, did he get rid of it... also did he hold Indonesian citizenship or travel under a US passport as a kid. Where is his baptism certificate and since his father was married previous to his mother, where’s the marriage certificate.

My main question is who vets them and when. There’s no way, with his associations he would get a clearance... so how could he be viable for senator, much less than president (yeah, I know Teddy did that, but this is different, he still traffics with these characters, including two wanted by interpol, terror supporters, etc).

No offense but I disagree. This is typical Democrat campaign tactics. They may be close together on what they propose, but the people supporting them have no idea of those differences.

Virtually every Democrat on TV talks about electability and NOT what their candidate stands for or would do if elected. This was true with both Gore and Kerry as well. The whole thrust of the Democrat effort is electability, not philosophy.

It really is emotion over substance, or fantasy over reality. There is not one word of difference between Obama or Hillary from the media, but there are quite a number of comments talking about how Republicans do not support McCain, and why.

Come on Ali, you know there are different rules, laws, standards, for rat candidates. It's called the hall pass,pass,pass....

On a more serious topic, who is Carly Fiorina,McCain's Economic Ad visor and former head of HP.(wow is she ever hot) She comes off at the real thing. Is she really? Or what is the deal with her,VP possibility?

You'd best hope she isn't McCain's VP. Carly Fiorina is the woman who destroyed Lucent, and was well on her way to killing-off Hewlett-Packard until the Board was forced to fire her. If she manages to do for McCain's campaign what she did for the companies she headed he's a dead duck... /grin

In the business world she's a living example of the sad reality that being intelligent, articulate and WRONG are not mutually exclusive propositions...

I did a quick Google on Carly Fiorina and turned up a lot of very negative comments on her and the job she did on HP. (Yes, I meant to type on and apparently Mr. Hewlett would agree.) One even referred to a merger she pushed through while at Lucent and then, without staying to integrate the merge, she jumped to HP and the Lucent merge turned to crap.

This is of interest mainly because Mikey's Boy Chris asked her about herself as a possible VP choice and she said nothing to indicate she wasn't interested. I think her response was that the American people aren't even thinking about VP choices yet.

The hell we aren't. McCain's VP choice will be pivotal for a lot of people on whether they vote for him or not. Not getting into the argument about whether that's good or bad, but it's a fact.

Anyway, in the Google search there were San Jose Mercury News articles referring to her as a possible CA governor candidate or McCain VP. I think the ambition is there, and I'm not sure she has a lot of good possibilities left in high level business.

Here are a couple quotes from the Murky News: (3/8/08) The campaign, she said, will promote policies that help small businesses and "make a greater investment in green technology."... She was a leader on tech issues and defended HP for sending some jobs overseas. In 2004, she was part of the tech sector's efforts to counter criticism of "off-shoring" jobs to India and China. "There is no job that is America's God-given right anymore," she said at a Washington press conference. ...She was forced out of HP in 2005 after long-simmering board and shareholder dissatisfaction exploded into a rancorous fight over the direction of the company.

From her bio on the HP website: Fiorina was named an honorary fellow of the London Business School in July 2001. In 2002, she was honored with the Appeal of Conscience Award, and in 2003 she received the Concern Worldwide "Seeds of Hope" Award in recognition of her worldwide efforts to make global citizenship a priority for business.

Obviously I have selected the negative comments (or negative IMO) but they are the ones that most relate to VP capability or desirability IMO.

This would not be a choice that would convince me, in fact I would run for my life. J.C. Watts OTOH...

I concur with the points you raised in your post, and appreciate your taking time to research and document some of the evidence for both our concerns, and dismay even, that McCain has turned to someone like this for what is being touted as “expertise”.

Fiorina is essentially a token. She has achieved her celebrated reputation as one of “America’s top corporate executives” primarily because she’s a woman who simply held some “top corporate positions” for a while - not because of what she accomplished while she occupied those positions.

She is pure Symbolism over Substance, which is why she’s a media darling, and why idiot politicians believe she’s the answer to their prayers.

The sad irony is that she really is extremely intelligent, articulate, hardworking and conscientious. She just has appallingly bad judgment... /grin

I saw that and almost puked! What a loyal family. OTOH he was cheating on the wife and I think the CCF got the corrupt son out of trouble shortly after the crash...

I think the ambition is there,

%%%%%

I am positive that it is. The idea of her close association with McCain is just one more tinfoil-on-toothfilling moment in this election cycle.

I would love to see Mitt Romney as VP, but McCain is so thoroughly beholden to the country club wing of the Republican party, that Romney is an impossiblilty.

I can't dispute that. You know what they say about the road to Hell and good intentions. It's too bad the smarter and harder working but wrong person can pave us up a 12 lane superhighway pretty quick.

Best line I've heard in a while and it sure describes a multitude of moments. Thanks for giving me a good laugh.

God bless you and your surgeon.

My mother had quadruple bypass in 2004 when she was 80. She’s better than ever now.
