The Log Cabin Republicans of California, a gay GOP organization, has endorsed a number of Inland candidates in the June primary.
The group said it didn't focus on "gay issues" in making its decisions because gays and lesbians already have many rights in California. Instead, the group looked at candidates' positions on issues such as lower taxes and public safety, said James Vaughn, the Log Cabin Republicans' state director.
"The gay wars are over. We've moved on," Vaughn said. "We want to support Republicans who want to win elections, not fight losing battles."
The group took neutral positions on some candidates when there wasn't enough information to warrant an endorsement. The group opposed candidates who Vaughn said violated Republican principles or "had gone out of their way to still fight on gay issues."
The group endorsed the following candidates: 64th Assembly District: Brian Nestande; 71st Assembly District: Neil C. Blais; 80th Assembly District: Gary Jeandron; and 37th state Senate District: Russ Bogh.
The group opposed these candidates: 64th Assembly District: Kelly McCarty; 71st Assembly District: Jeff Miller; and 37th state Senate District: John J. Benoit.
The Log Cabin Republicans took neutral positions on the following candidates: 63rd Assembly District: Bill Emmerson; 65th Assembly District: Paul Cook; 66th Assembly District: Kevin Jeffries; and 31st state Senate District: Bob Dutton.
Sorry, just had to. ;-)
I think Nestande issued a statement repudiating their endorsement, so he goes up a notch in my book.
“The gay wars are over. We’ve moved on,”
These Queers have no place in any conservative venue.
The gay wars are NOT over, they have just begun !!
Perhaps - Emphatically these folks can/shoulf keep on moving on over to the Demorats where they belong.
Easter island would be a bettter place for them.
Why'd ya do that? I used to like Alf.
I didn’t know Alf moonlighted as a Chippendale’s dancer. I would’ve thought you you might like him more now...
=running away=
That pic looked gay... not my type.
I prefer the original Alf—he was pretty cool. LOL.
