Death by Silverlight.

Anyone else out there mourning the passing of the old MediaPlayer internet feed?

Not being able to buffer whole hours for playback later (or now, for that matter) is beginning to grate the nerves here in the, heh, Caribbean... :-)

Lefties want Hill out swooner than later
By Howie Carr | Wednesday, May 7, 2008 | http://www.bostonherald.com

This Barack-Hillary Show has jumped the shark.

Week after week, the same old same old. It’s gotten more tired than a Paula Abdul meltdown on “American Idol.” He wins one, she wins one.

Barack’s people say, “They’re raising the bar!”

Hillary’s minions say, “They’re moving the goalposts.”

And America is changing the channel.

Don’t the Democrats understand? This is May, a ratings sweeps months. You put your best new episodes on. Instead, we’re getting reruns from February.

“Yes we can!” Obama said last night. Hey, isn’t this is where we came in?

Actually, these next few days are going to be a terrible time for Hillary Clinton. The title of our next episode is, “Get Out Already, Hillary!” It becomes ever clearer just how much the mainstream media is in the satchel for Barack Obama. It’s not just Chris Matthews who gets a tingle up his leg when he hears Barack. They all swoon.

And now they are going to demand that Hillary quit. The din will be incessant. They want to get down to what they consider the real Lord’s work, bashing John McCain. The trust-funded Ivy Leaguers of the press corps want to make the Rev. John Hagee the same household word that Jeremiah Wright has become.

The Clintons know this. Why do you think Paul Begala sounded so bitter on CNN last night?

“We cannot win with eggheads and African-Americans,” he said. “That’s the Dukakis coalition.”

Comparing Barack to Mike Dukakis - you can’t get any further below the belt than that. That’s worse than comparing him to John Kerry, or Al Gore.

But Barack won last night. He got more votes, more delegates. She didn’t get “the game-changer” in the Old North State. So the chorus will swell ever louder amongst the Beautiful People, from Nantucket to Malibu.

Hillary can’t win! It’s time!

Which is why Barack Obama takes the high road, as he did last night in Raleigh. His white grandfather is now a World War II vet, a member of the Greatest Generation. He and his wife are no longer “typical white persons.” Barack doesn’t claim victory over Hillary. That will be left to Matthews and Olbermann and Cafferty and the rest of the amen chorus. They will wield the long knives against the Clintons.

Hillary’s people say they will “crush” Obama in West Virginia next week. Ditto, Kentucky. Beyond that, well, Oregon is latte-liberal land. Guess who wins there. Then South Dakota and Montana - lily-white states, Obama-land.

Last night on the cable channels, the pundits were once again drifting into the past tense as they talked about the Clintons. The miscues are cataloged again and again: terrible organization in the caucus states, blowing $25 million and then losing in Iowa, Bill Clinton comparing Barack to Jesse Jackson.

Barely mentioned was the fact that according to the exit polls, Obama was getting 91 percent black vote in North Carolina. The number just kept appearing in the crawls on the bottom of the screen. It’s left to talk-show callers - not even hosts, but callers - and guys that don’t care anymore like Jackie Mason to raise the obvious question: What if the white vote in North Carolina had gone 91 percent for Hillary?

Do you think the media would be swooning? Would Chris Matthews be getting a tingle in his leg?

And Hillary couldn’t even use Bill, so recently known as the first black president. He was reduced to working the tank towns in white western North Carolina, calling the morning zoo shows on FM radio, denying that he tried to snake Rush Limbaugh’s date in New York City. How the mighty have fallen.

Who would have ever thought it? Hillary Clinton is going to be gone before Sal DiMasi.

Maybe my work PC hasn't been infested by Silverlight, but I still use WM10 to listen to HLC here in Esseff. Just go to "Open URL" and use this address:

mms://wmc1.liquidviewer.net/wrko

If I change the "wrko" to "weei", I can get weei through the same method. Listening to someone on WRKO whining about kid coaching (TwoShay?) as I write this, in fact.

Back to music, I think...

Not being able to buffer whole hours for playback later

This is a good option, sense his return, he seems to be creating less entries on the “Audio-Vault” page

What is the name of the buffer file, and/or its location?
Thanks
