If the GOP plays its cards right, they can take back Congress, IMHO.

I tend to disagree, at least as far as this bill goes at least. Most folks could care less if gun owners are registered. Even many gun owners. As long as they get to keep their bird gun or fancy trap/skeet piece, they are happy.

Of course that bird gun can be converted to an assault shotgun with a little hacksaw work, something the graboids will "discover" as soon they grab most everything else.

I'm not talking about the Zumbos. I'm talking about single issue RKBA voters who are as sick of the incompetent pubbies as they are sick of the marxists. They had no reason to vote in 2006 unless they had a local reason because the marxists ran RKBA donkeys for both Houses of Congress. The marxists finally bought a clue. We lost the Congress.

A similar reasoning applies to the loss of votes from small 'l' libertarians and votes for Libertarians seeking office, i.e. in 2006 donkeys didn't threaten the RKBA. IIRC, the number of votes for the Libertarian nominees for the Senate in Montana and Virginia exceeded the margins that Tester beat Burns and Webb beat Allen, respectively.
