Reminds me of that piece I read in a freshman lit class about the man who had "gone too far." It concludes, "and no one has gone too far since."
For some reason, of everything I've read, that goofy, cryptic piece has always had a spot on a dusty shelf in the very back of my brain.
That, and this line (from a different piece, entitled "Paranoia"): "You close your eyes and all you see are breasts." That's not paranoia.
well, in this case, maybe it is.
Mass paranoia is what the young gals with breasts, mouths and big eyes did have, and the officials gawked thereat, metaphorically.
That's puberty.
