McCain Ambushed With Obscene Question at Town Hall
Fox News ^ | May 1, 2008 | Mosheh Oinounou

An audience member ambushed John McCain on Thursday at an otherwise placid town hall meeting in Des Moines, Iowa, with a surprise question about whether he had ever called his wife by an obscene term.

The man stood up and first said he wanted to ask the Arizona senator about a “mental health and mental health care” concern.

“Previously I had been married to a woman who was very verbally abusive to me,” the man said. He paused and asked, “Is it true that you called your wife a c***?”

The crowd booed, and McCain responded:

once you and your beloved reach that level of name-calling, it’s better for both to move on and trade in for newer, more agreeable, models.

Unless Daddy owns the local beer distributorship and is worth billions.

Or unless your hubby is a Senator and can get felony charges dropped.

My experience with McCain would match that explanation. In Party and other settings he would flash irritation or annoyance and then move on. I don't think I ever saw anything that could be described as white hot anger or rage. He would raise his voice and speak his mind and then return to normal.

We would warn people to expect it because it could be unsettling. We would tell them to keep cool, wait and after some time had elapsed, to blast back. Usually that tactic would draw a chuckle out of McCain. McCain's demeanor is usually very professional and business-like. He can be very, very charming.

You could see the irritation build when someone would belabor a minor point at the expense of a general consensus. He does not suffer fools gladly.

Ah! Another n00bie with a criticism.

And one who does not know how or when to capitalize as well.

That's just darling.

I worked with a lot of “Life’s too short...” guys between 1976 and 1981. A lot of Vets went to the mountains to escape themselves. They were popular with the young girls because they had drugs and money.

He was Joe Biden’s former campaign manager.

Really? I have not seen or heard that. If that is true, and I will take it as such, then this will back fire on the Dems.

We have 1 of 3 choices. Obama, Clinton, or McCain. Pick one and back them. People who only pretend to be conservative are liars.

What if 3 Democrats were running? Would you 'pick one and back them'? That's what we essentially have.

March 05
Look! It’s A New Year!
Well, Joe Biden didn’t make it out of Iowa. Just thought I’d let all my friends know, it wasn’t for lack of trying. Meaning....well,

You see I quit writing on my site in September because I became an official staff member of the Biden for President campaign. That’s right. I practice what I preach and when I tried to preach Joe Biden into the White House, I decided to help him by literally volunteering on his staff. I left the Memphis area and drove to Des Moines, IA in July 2007. So a few of these blog entries were made while I was on the ground in Iowa. I decided once I became paid staff, though - and it was policy anyway - that I would have to cut back a bit on my clamor.

So, dear friends and family. That’s why the long stretch between this entry and the previous one.

But now I’m back. I’m not on anyone’s staff, so I guess I can say what I d*$# well please.

O’ Obama!
O’ .. O’ .. Obama!!

Thats exactly what we have and it stinks. IMO we can ‘make a statement’ by voting for an independent and get screwed. OR we can pick the lesser of three evils and work to limit the damage.

McCain is not a good candidate and I cannot understand how he beat out the others. It had to be a backdoor deal in the GOP. I’d rather have him than a communist or a facist though.

At least he is willing to listen to the people.

I did a tour with a guy who was a Vietnam POW for an extended period of time. He was volatile and profane, to put it mildly, and also quite charming at times. Uncontrolled, explosive outbursts is one of the symptoms of PTSD.

Since McCain can’t keep himself from screaming profanity on the Senate floor, there is no reason to assume he can with his wife. And, frankly, these outbursts do call his overall psychological health into question.

In a sane world, the Republican party would never have let him run for the highest office in the land, twice.

Considering he is going to be running against Hillary, I say it is a non-issue.

What’s the quickest way to bring down a candidate’s poll numbers? Make him unlikeable and call into legitimate question his fitness for office. That’s what is hurting Obama with the Jeremiah Wright issue.

Hillary’s negatives are already known and she still polls favorably against McCain, especially in swing states like Ohio and Pennsylvania. She has a shot at Florida. Florida’s largest voting demographic is middle aged and elderly women. Hispanics like her, so she could grab New Mexico. The blacks will stay on the plantation, especially if Obama’s her running mate.

McCain, on the other hand, has an entire closet full of shoes yet to drop. He has name recognition with the voters because he’s been in DC forever and sponsored a lot of high-profile legislation, but his negatives have not gotten into the public consciousness yet, expecially with the mushy middle voters who only half pay attention to politics and whose votes he will desperately need in November.

If Hillary wins the nomination, McCain loses, pure and simple. He’s got a chance against Obama, unless Hillary’s his running mate. Hill and Bill had eight years of access to ALL classified information, including all the information about McCain’s POW years and information on POWS possibly left behind that was classified and sequestered at the Pentagon.

You think that wretched woman won’t utterly and completely destroy McCain if that’s what it takes to get back in the White House? She’ll step over his dead body to get to the Oval Office without a twinge of remorse. Like I said, the Stupid Party earned its title by nominating McCain against the Clintons.

I have been a member of the DU for many, many years and that doesn't make me a liberal. I have done there through posdting exactly what I feel many are doing here.

Ah, poor baby. Been a member of the "DUmp for many, many years". Tell me, what is "posdting"?

I am amazed more can't see through this farcical behavior here AND there.

Well, looks like you didn't complete the first 24 hours ar FR and someone did see through your farcical behavior, so forget about answering the question above.

ZOT!
