Election latest: David Cameron inflicts worst drubbing in 40 years
The Conservatives made sweeping gains across the country early today as voters gave Gordon Brown a huge rebuff in his first electoral test as Prime Minister.
David Cameron chalked up important successes in the North, the Midlands and the South, securing his top target of Bury in Greater Manchester and taking control of Nuneaton and Bedworth, and Southampton.
The Conservatives also took seats in Labour strongholds of Sunderland and Wigan.
Labour suffered one of its worst electoral humiliations, with its national share of the vote dropping to 24 or 25 per cent. The Tory share was projected at 43 or 44 per cent, better than its most optimistic predictions.

How do you figure?
Really? Wow, can you point me to the sources that have given you this insightful knowledge?
Go on. I dare you.
Religion and Nationalism?
You have much to learn young one.
Alright, well good luck to Great Britain anyway and I hope that the electorate gets whatever change they sought.
He's mailed me about some violation of his cosmic space, or something along that line. Let's oblige him, because the last thing an emerging adult on shaky psychological footing needs is more public humiliation. He might turn out to be a nice fellow someday once he gets off the marijuana and we don't need to leave an imprint on his psyche during this delicate time he's going through.
It took the German invasion of France to convince the Brits that maybe they should replace Neville Chamberlain with Winston Churchill. Churchill lasted until just a few months after the Germans were defeated, and was tossed out in favor of the Labour Party candidate
The Tory election gains are probably an indication that the average Brit is becoming aware that there is a threat to his society
YUP!
Still better than George Galloway. :’)

Well I personally think it’s the majority of people are sick of politics and they want change. However, no matter right or left they don’t generally deliver.. people in the middle get unsatified and decide to get the other side a show.. same thing happens and moves back again.
Until we remove power from the politics this will probably always be the case.
The real power is with the moderate.
Johnson is indeed amusing especially with his awful hair. (Trump anyone)... But I wouldn’t be gleeful about the resurrection of the Tories. David Cameron (the Tory leader) spends lots of time trashing America; in fact, he felt the need to throw America under the bus on 9/11 to score some cheap political points. Unlike Tony Blair, who has been a staunch ally.
