You are aware, aren't you, that in the fLDS, the children don't belong to the parents anyway? Surely you know that on a whim, the "prophet" can "reassign" entire families to another "husband," that children are seldom raised by their birth mothers, but are raised by other women in the community?

So what you describe when you say, "The creeping, insidious assumption that our children don't belong to their parents, but that they belong to the nation" it is already happening, except you have to substitute "the community" for "the nation."
