The high price of gas will touching everything in our lives. Not a single person will go untouched by it.
As I said on another thread, gas above $4 will bring John Edwards 'two Americas' to life. Gas over $5, and this country will be divided into the haves and have nots. Gas over $7, God help us all. If I trusted Americans would act rational, it would be different. But Katrina proved to me that people resort to their most feral states to survive- and are willing to kill to do it.
We lived in inner-city Minneapolis at the time and I got actively involved in protesting the Code Pinkers. People who I just dismissed as stoned hippies before were revealed as vile win at no cost socialists. I saw the ugly side and convinced my husband to get the h*ll out.
We moved out to a small town 35 miles away from the core city. My husband's commute is about ten miles longer each way, which is costing us, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
The way things are going with fuel and food there's no way I'd want to live in the inner-city.
On a side note, great pics on your homepage. I keep saying one day, I'm going to get the training for a conceal and carry license. Is your dog a Belgian Sheepdog?
