Well, we go through 3-4 gallons of milk per week in this house. Granted, we also go through tons of juice bags and boxes. During the summer, I make my kids stay outside part of the day. They used to complain, it’s too hot, it’s boring, yada yada, but they find stuff to do. We have the pool and they always spend tons of time in that but just playing outside, all year round, is different - most don’t, like when we were kids. It could be 10 degrees and we were outside most of the day. If it’s not a pool day, then they’re trying to be inside, and I’m shoving them out the door, lol.

I even see a difference between my older two, now teens, and the two little ones. the older two were always outside, winter/snow, summer, etc. So I make them play outside, I’m a mean mom, then they stay out for hours, lol.

Ricketts? I haven’t heard that since I was a kid.

And we didn’t have a/c for a long time when I was a kid and even when we finally had it, it was only in one room and only on for a couple hours. We used to sleep downstairs at night, with all the windows and doors open, because it was cooler than upstairs. A lot different than today but we had so much fun too, all of us sleeping in the living room.
