FORT WORTH, Texas, April 30, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The United Methodist pro-life ministry Lifewatch recently hosted a free luncheon featuring former abortion clinic owner Carol Everett.
Everett spent six years working in the abortion industry in the early 80s, before experiencing a profound conversion. In 1995 she founded the Heidi Group - a group of inner-city crisis pregnancy centers named after one of Everett's own children that she aborted in 1973.
"We are an injured nation, for many of us are unwilling to admit or deal with our pain," Everett told her audience.
Everett has testified in the past that while she was working in the abortion industry she was on track to make over a million dollars a year. "You can imagine what my motivation was," she said. "I sold abortions."
In order to sell as many abortions as possible the telephone "counselors" at Everett's clinics were trained to lead distraught women callers to think that there is only one solution to their unwanted pregnancy, and then to assure women that their child is only a "blob of tissue" and that the procedure itself will be basically painless.
"I cannot tell you one thing that happens in an abortion clinic that is not a lie."
"When we opened" Everett told Lifewatch, "we did 45 abortions in the first month. The last month (we were opened) we did 545." Everett was paid $25 per abortion.
To address the plight of women considering abortion, Everett's Heidi Group centers offer parenting classes, Bible studies, counseling, and prenatal medical care.
The mission of Lifewatch, also called the Taskforce of United Methodists on Abortion and Sexuality, is to "work to create in church and society esteem for human life at its most vulnerable, specifically for the unborn child and for the Woman who contemplates abortion."
Lifewatch is committed to removing language supportive of abortion in the Book of Discipline, a guiding document for the Methodist community. The Book of Discipline defends "the legal option of abortion under proper medical procedures" in order to protect the "well-being of the mother."

This article is a terrific find. What a horrible place for this woman to have come from, but what a miracle that she has renounced the mill business, spoken the truth , repeatedly and openly, and embraced life!
A.A.C.
I heard Carol speak at a Crisis Pregnancy Center banquet and she had an amazing testimony. The horrors of the abortion clinics were frightening indeed, especially the lies and tactics used to generate $$$$! She told how they actually created an “industry” by having school nurses and advertising tactics refer girls to Planned Parenthood as young as possible so they would start taking the pill, and therefore start having sex. Knowing they were young and irresponsible she said it was inevitable they’d forget to take the pill and soon they’d be in for their first of many abortions.
Well, since “Big Abortion” kills more Americans than Big Tobacco, Big Oil, Big Food, Big Auto and Big Gun COMBINED and collects hundreds of millions of dollars TAX FREE (including some taxpayer money), perhaps Congress should hold hearings.
Ahh yes.. and the US taxpayers also helps subsidize the profitable Planned Parenthood. Can’t you feel the warm fuzzies all over in helping kill the unborn while paying your share in contributions to the coffers of the life snatchers?
And what makets you think that these murder for money death pi do not have our elected theives in their pocket.
Money talks, all others walk.
Being elected is more important than a baby any day, besides they, unlike the older dead people, can’t vote.
See the picture above? That is one of three former abortion rooms at the NATIONAL AMERICAN HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL in Baton Rouge, LA. It was open from 1986 1994. 30,000 children were aborted there. This was not the only abortion mill in the city. The doctor had this building built special to maximize his time and PROFITS.
Notice the kitchen sink with the garbage disposal. There were three ways for the doctor to dispose of the babies, an expensive biomedical incinerator, expensive biomedical waste pick-up (charge by pound) or a rather inexpensive garbage disposal. Every day Gods precious children were ground up in that disposal and flushed into the citys sewer system. Thing is this doctor of death did late term abortions, so an assisting demon had to literally cut up the bigger kids to feed down the disposal.
I have given tours of the place a few times. It is like walking in a nightmare. The suction machine in one room is still plugged in and it works when you turn it on for the visitors to see and hear. This place is much like an abandoned Nazi death camp. Its the only Memorial like it in the country. Its a testament to Americas (and humanity's) darkest potential.
Some time after the mill was closed down, the doctor of death aborted himself with a bullet through the head.

When I asked to see my baby after losing it one week shy of it being considered a ‘real baby’ and getting a birth/death certificate and allowed a burial (I lost it at 19 weeks), I was told it was ‘just a blob of tissue’ by the acting nurse in the ER and she wisked it away. He was REAL TO ME!!! I felt him move, I saw his heart beat on the ultrasound, I saw him kick his little legs. And by God I had labor to push that little ‘blob of tissue’ out. Might not have felt like pushing a 9 pounder out full term, but it was certainly four hours of pain and pushing, and another 10 hours of contractions for the torn afterbirth.
Sorry if I grossed you all out.
Blob of tissue terms bother me immensely.
I would think this qualifies as sexual battery at the very least.
It doesn’t bother me at all.
Thank you for sharing it with all of us, no matter how long ago it happened, I can’t imagine how difficult it was. At least you have some comfort knowing that your baby is safely in the Arms of our Savior.
God Bless You.
Thank you, you are so right. He is waiting on me and I know it.
Ther eis little els ein this world more sick and depraved than the murder of innocent children.
BUMP
I’m sorry for your loss. We lost our first when I was 24 weeks along. It is unimaginable to me that anyone can consider undergoing, much less performing, an abortion at such a late stage, but I know it happens every day. Whenever I hear someone claim “it’s not really a baby yet”, I want to whip out my daughter’s picture and say “then what do you call her?”
I agree. I wish I could have had a picture. That was all I wanted.
Of course my ex-husband had since said maybe it was deformed and they didn’t want you to see it (I knew ‘something’ was wrong all along by the bloodwork and was told if it survived, it would probably be handicapped, but I didn’t care.) Sometimes I wonder if they didn’t tell him something they wouldn’t tell me. EITHER WAY, it was my baby and I was not a baby and should not have been coddled that way.
Kudos to Lifewatch, that’s a tough neighborhood they’re trying to clean up. Kudos also to Everett, and let me add that naming that pregnancy center group after her aborted daughter amounted to her putting her own sin right above the door, and that took real guts.
The modern day Treblinka and Daucau of the free world. Have we learned anything from the past?
