Fred was the only candidate who said he wasn’t seeking the presidency for his own personal reasons, but felt he owed something back to the country. Despite his perceived “lack of enthusiasm” during the primaries that statement was music to my ears.

I can find all kinds of bad things to say about almost any candidate out of the last field ,, fred may have a fault or two but we could have done a lot worse ,, and frankly, I don,t see him as a gore by any stretch of the imagination, in fact, he may fit cheney,s boots quite well.. not much consolation for many as things are playing out, but we need to take what comfort we can these days where and when we can, and as always keep the pitchforks sharpened and the auto dialers at the ready.

Agreed. Not really wanting the job was perhaps the highest recommendation for him to have it.
