Wrong.

The ILWU was engaged in a slow down as a negotiation tool.

This causes havoc at the ports and in the US economy.

The ILWU misplaced or mislabeled containers, refused to send people from the “Halls”, failed to followed work assignments and work orders, members left for breaks and never came back.

This resulted in a 60% decrease of activity in the ports.

But the ILWU’s President said that they can use any tactic it wants during the negotiations.

Wait until June 30, they are going to use the same tactics again and ruin the economy.

Shippers are already preparing for the “Slow Down” by shifting to ports in Mexico and the Gulf Coast.

Beg pardon, sir, they were locked out and they were locked out before they could engage in slowdowns, which are essentially a paid strike.

As to what they will do for this contract, only Big Bob knows for sure.
