Well you have the guy who was endorsed by hamas...
and the witch who “wants to take from you for the common good”
It is what he has done since which makes me seriously question his fitness to be president.
Especially this action as one of the Senators who voted against the Cornyn amendment , which would have established a permanent bar for gang members, terrorists, and other criminals looking to snag a shamnesty visa. Republicans underlined:
Never forget McCain not only pushed the amnesty bill, he refused to allow exclusions for the worst of the lot.
I respectfully correct your description of the candidates - you really should say, “two socialists and a liberal”. Other than that, I, too, shall hold my nose and vote against either of the socialists.
That's what is so sad and depressing about this election: 2008, along with pretty much every election since 1988, have offered very little in the way of really good quality candidates. Just goes to show how far our political system has fallen.
The mere fact that we have to choose from 3 sitting Senators is most depressing of all - Senators are the most elite, out of touch, and generally corrupted politicians in all of Washington.
Enough stories about McCain from 40 years ago. We know all this. What I care about is what he has done in the last 8 years. He has worked with Democrats to undermine Bush at every turn.
Give him a medal for actions 40 years ago, but based on the last 8 years, he must not be elected president.
Agreed. When they wheel him out at the old soldiers' home, I'll stand up and cheer the loudest. But, I'm not going to vote for him.
Truly sad after having displayed so much integrity so early on, he spent the last thirty-five years rolling in the sewer.
There goes Col. Bud Day, swiftboating another presidential candidate. I have to give McCain some points here.
They’re still offset by amnesty, the First Amendment and the Gang of 14. And global warming/climate change.
I expect a 527 on our side will run stories like these once the general election campaign starts. I am curious to see how the public reacts to the RAT attacks on McCain once the facts about his military service are known.
There is no doubt in my mind that the RATS can take it to a point that is beyond unseemly in light of what McCain sacrificed in service to our country.
Based on his sponsorship of McCain Kennedy and that he turned his back on MIAs while embracing the Vietnamese Communists, I can see how he would be classified as a traitor.
PING.
John has not murdered his child.
As a matter of fact you need to inform yourself in regards to the adoption of his Bangladeshi daughter when she was just an infant.
And God Bless him for it, BUT that was almost two generations ago. Benedict Arnold was a war hero also, and no ones uses that to white wash his betrayal.
The problem is most peopel DO understand McCain.
This will not change anything.
Which is also fine and good. But, just as this won't qualify him for being the next Mother Theresa, heroism forty years ago while inspiring does NOT mean (especially with his history of betrayal) that he is fit to be President today.
What Rove, Fiora (former HP CEO who is chair of Victory GOP, Christine Todd Whitless, and the other RINOS are doing is trying to sell us a rusty 1999 Geo Metro and convince us is really a 2008 Corvette because they put a corvette name plate on the hood.
McCain is not a Maverick, he is not even a moderate, he is a self interested politician and everyone can see that.
(see also RNC pissing on our legs and telling us it is really raining)
Of the three liberals still in the race, I think that we are probably better off with McCain, who showed remarkable character in his youth (even if he squandered it in the years since), over Clinton and B.O., who have never showed any character at all. Also, there is at least a chance that McCain will step aside after 4 years, whereas Clinton and B.O. are guaranteed to be around for 8.
Even if you disagree that we are better off with McCain than the other liberal choices (and there are good arguments why we are better off with a democRat liberal than a RINO), the Senate, House, Governor, and local offices that are going to be on the same ballot in November do still matter. Those down ballot elections may be the only thing stopping us from becoming a full fledged European-style socialist country in the next 4 years.
Our best hope at this point is that half of the democRats get mad and stay home in November and that Republicans show up and vote. That way, regardless of which liberal is President, there may be enough Republicans with spines left in the Senate to block liberal judicial and other appointments.
McCain was a great guy. He is not the same man that he was in the past. The best of the three running for office, yes. But probably the absolute worst republican choice we could expect to have? I would say also yes.
All the more reason Operation Chaos keeps rolling. Not so much to help McCain (which it does) but to hopefully permanently fracture the democrat party. They are eating themselves alive because of it. Thanks to dragging this out we’ve seen dems actually trying to put strategies in place to criminalize people exercising their right to vote for whoever they want, we’ve found out more about candidates (ie Wright) than we ever would have if Hillary wasn’t in the race - it’s been great at causing massive splits in the dem party. They are in chaos and are worried greatly about their convention. Al Sharpton, can’t wait for him to lead the rioters and get tasered. Al is gonna look like Don King after the first couple zaps.
thanks for the post! it helps to put things in perspective.
Well, also, since we are getting a liberal president no matter what, it is critical that house and senate elections in your state need to be fought hard and won to either retain the seat with a good conservative republican, or to capture it from a vulnerable democrat. We need the numbers to start reversing in the house and senate to minimize the impact of the upcoming liberal president.
