I've been keeping careful tabs on Obama's church for over a year. The site has been continually changing, and I thought I would document it for FR.
Last year it was very marxist and black separatist. Then it became still radical, social justice oriented, but a lot of the most severe separatist stuff was removed.
Tonight I checked and suddenly it is overtly Christian.
Either the church has changed substantially or somebody is trying to deceive the public.
Here is the statement from the statement of faith in 2006:
"We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community."
"Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:
Commitment to God Commitment to the Black Community Commitment to the Black Family Dedication to the Pursuit of Education Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence Adherence to the Black Work Ethic Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness" Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System. The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

Now note it for most of 2007 - the beginning bit about commitment to black institutions alone is gone.:

Rev. Wright said in his speech at the National Press Club that genetically blacks and whites are different and we use different parts of our brain, learn differently and even our rhythm is different. Whites count the beats in music on the 1 and 4 and Africans count the beats on the 2 and 6. I wonder how Rev. Wright thinks that people with a mixed heritage like Obama count music (the 1 and 4, 2 and 6 or maybe 1,2, 4 and 6)? Rev. Wright’s ideas were nuts.
In 4/4 time, European music emphasizes beats 1 and 3, African music beats 2 and 4 (back beat).

All this is an elaborate cover for the fact that Obama has sympathies for Islam, since that was the religion he was exposed to through his father, who was MUSLIM!!! You don’t think he knows he has to be Christian in order to win the presidency??? He may be a communist, but he’s not a stupid politician. If he gets into office, you can FORGET about bombing Iran back into the stone age (oh yea, they’re aready there), and handling the rest of them like Syria, Pakistan, Saudia Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt.

You will have the original, even if they change it later. This is exactly the reason FR was created. MSM would change their original printed stories on their websites after FR proved they lied. It's also the reason so many MSM won't allow FR to post their articles. They correct, change (as you well know) the website but don't publish the corrections in their print formats.
