Well, I would judge them by the website. I’ve been keeping sharp tabs on it for over a year.
Last year it was very black separatist, with lots of marxist dogma.
This year it had a lot of the severe separatist removed, but was still quite extreme.
I checked it today and suddenly it is very Christian, with bible verses all over it. Not what it was a year ago, believe me. Actually, I find it distressing. Did they suddenly become a Christ centered church? Or are they just deciding to pull the wool over our eyes?
Oh, I totally agree that Obama's church is bad news. Hell, if you replaced the term "black" with the term "white"(with the content of their webpage a year ago), and if Obama were a Republican. He would have been tarred and feathered with the label of "racist who worships in an ideology of white supremacy" by the media and wouldn't have won a single primary. I just thought the whole thing with the prank phone call was a bit of a stretch.
Obama's church to me seems like a racial madrassa(spelling?).
I have noticed however, that they have cleaned up the website a lot from the last time I looked when the "church" was first exposed.
The media attention has caused the White United Church of Christ Board to find out what is going on, and bring Wrights church (at least on surface and website) into compliance with Organization. Otherwise they would pull their membership, and as a non profit, there goes the church. Then how do they pay for that $10 million retirement home for Wright. Lots of magical coverup to retain status in the HOME organization, UCC Denomination, which is predominatly white, so go figure. Biting the hand that feeds them, it’s a mess.
