My son was on duty in his submarine, which is between Pier 2 and Pier 3, when the tornado hit. He told me he heard heavy winds so he climbed out of the sub and watched the tornado go by. A lot of car windows were blown our but nobody was hurt. It missed his house in Suffolk by about 2 miles. His wife said there were winds, but not that strong. We are thankful they are okay, but our prayers go out to those who were hit by the tornado.

Glad to hear your son and his family are O.K.

When I saw this on the news tonight, I said there will be an awful lot of Navy personnel involved. I’ll be praying for all of them.

BTW, my grandson is a submariner, too. Assigned to the nuclear sub, USS Jimmy Carter.
