With the way that Mormons document every birth and death of every human being on the planet in order to ensure they all get baptized for the dead, how can it possibly be that the number of wives and children these Mormons presidents and Apostles had can only be approximated?

Where are the genealogical records of these Apostles and Prophets kept? Are they a closely guarded secret?
