btw, it has been little noted but the fake nuclear deal he ‘negotiated’ with North Korea in 1994, which did nothing in reality to stop NK’s march toward nuclear weapons, also helped to pave the way for the nuclear reactor that NK was helping to build in Syria. In 1994 there was almost a decision in the Clinton admin. to really force the end of NK’s nuclear activities, and that summer there was talk of bombing raids, war, etc. so Jimmy jetted off to Pyongyang, against the wishes of the Clintonistas, and then announced a ‘deal’ had been reached, again without the decision of the US govt., so Carter protected NK from any resolute western action. It was his pretended Chamberlain “peace for our time” — now years later we find that NK was on the verge of completing a reactor for the production of plutonium to provide Syria with nuclear weapons.
It is no stretch to say that Carter actively helped NK get to the point of nearly providing genocidal nuclear weapons to Israel’s mortal enemy.
Despite former president Jimmy Carter’s claim to have negotiated an agreement for Hamas to recognize Israel’s right to exist and a promise to live in peace, Hamas leader, Khaled Mashaal, said his militant Islamic group will never recognize Israel nor agree to peace.
“We love President Carter, but he doesn’t understand anything,” Mashaal explained. “We have offered a 10-year truce if Israel withdraws to the 1967 borders. That should be enough time for them to pack up and vacate the rest of our lands.”
Mashaal said that Carter’s misunderstanding is the “result of his inability to comprehend that the Quran commands us to slay the Jews wherever we may find them.” “He is a simpleton who believes in ‘turning the other cheek,’” Mashaal conceded. “Now, our land is the first place we are going to look for Jews to kill. If they leave they’ll have a respite until we are strong enough to pursue them where they have fled.”
