When our ships deploy pretty much everything works. In port, between deployments, the living conditions were unbelievably bad. I would have opted for that barracks.

I had the misfortune of spending my last 3 months on a ship in Norfolk shipyards. Dirty, filthy, nasty, noisy living conditions. If I had been on the line as to whether to re-up or not, that would have sealed the deal.
I didn’t think that was right, and I don’t think this is right. Our soldiers deserve better.
