Did Jeremiah Wright Jr. blow it?
After more than 40 years in ministry, Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. can finally fulfill his prophetic witness to the widest audience. Rather than speak only to congregations, he now has the national spotlight to explain and educate the American public about his passion in the pulpit.
But did he squander that spotlight this morning?
Some members of his de facto fan club say he did. Roland Martin, a CNN analyst, who usually defends Wright and explains the nuance and context of his remarks, said he “blew it” by being too “flippant.”
(snip)
“Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.”
Why didn't someone ask him about THAT?!
Are you kidding? Of course they will. Blood is thicker...
(Said when people are listening and can't be spun)
Wright said nothing a moonbat would object to. That's the long and short of it.
There, fixed it!
McCain doesn’t have to say a word about Wright...
From the little I saw on the news this morning Wright got some standing ovations on parts of his speach at the National Press Club. Shows where the press is on the issue.
When you opponents are busy attacking each other, keep a low profile and stay out of it
Substittute the word “Muslim” for the word “black” and there you have the Koran....
I was in an airport on FRI, and all over CNN was Obama’s comment that anyone who is a racist is already in the McCain camp anyway. So Wright at least managed to get THAT off the news :)
That’s not possible. His head is permanently grafted to that part of his anatomy.
Lets look at the democRAT Presidential candidate of CHANGE/HOPE:.
He "hopes" no one notices when he quotes anti-white lines from movies while speaking to mostly black audiences.
He "hopes" no one notices when he uses gangsta rap gestures which reference misogynistic lyrics..
He "hopes" no one notices when he says he took no DC lobbyist money he didn't include Nadhmi Auchi or George Soros..
He "hopes" no one notices that he attended Rev Wright's Church for 20 years and didn't hear a word.
He "hopes" no one ask him any questions about Most Rev Wright or Black Liberation Theology.
He "hopes" no one notices that he is completely comfortable hanging out with America hating bigots..
He "hopes" no one notices that his political career shows very little accomplishments that he can call his own..
He "hopes" that he can continue to run a gutter/negative attack campaign against Hillary and no one will notice. Audacity, baby!
For the most part, that was NOT the press applauding. If you had seen more of it, you’da seen the moderator explain that.
bttt Great montage!
The Obama campaign was officially sunk this morning between 9 and 10 AM. I video taped it with mouth gaping open hardly able to believe my ears that he took that opportunity to defend, reinforce, and expand on his previous inflammatory statements of which he complained had been taken out of context. :)
It is also the trough that Obama has been feeding at for 20 years. Obama has reinforced and developed his own personal core values on this swill.
There can be no denying it...no taking it wrong, no context in which this swill washes.
Wright is right about one thing, context is everything!
one ought to know when to leave well enough alone..
obviously Reb.Wright ain’t master’d that sentiment by any stretch of the imagination or thru the twisting of his very special “truths”.
