The Mullahs clearly fear John McCain becoming POTUS because he would hold strong on the current administration's short/mid/long term plans regarding Iran.
They have little option but to risk US air strikes against them knowing we would not touch their oil/gas/refinery facilities.
In short. Hope US opinion would allow for either of the commies to gain the POTUS this fall.
Then they would go to the United Nations and piss and moan and of course get support from Russia, China, Cuba, Syria, and every other anti-US country.
If worse came to worse, one can be assured every Mullah of any stature along with their top cronies would find safe haven in European countries, along with their vast accumulated bank accounts in tack.
