Did anybody find a picture of the entire wall he fell down? The AP link has a few pictures but none that shows the scope of the fall.
The story does not mention if alcohol was involved.
Alcohol or some other drugs are a near certainty. Seeing that he survived. :)
Here is a link to the PA DEP website that shows the strip mine, but not the exact site of this accident. And yes the area is very well fenced off.
This pit is very large, about 3/4 of a mile long and extends into 2 counties. It is one a several large pit mines in the area. The local newspaper (Times News of Carbon county) didn’t print any good pictures of the exact area either.
