Did anyone catch the drift from Obama regarding the question of whether or not he will accept public money for his campaign in the general election? He said he would if he and McCain came to an understanding that ads from organizations like the swift boat vets and the RNC be prohibited. Did I hear a call for censorship in the election or is it just me?

Yeah, that's what you heard. However, the law that John McCain wrote doesn't allow the candidates or the parties to control, or even comment on, those advertisements.

Obama invited his opponent to join him in violating the campaign finance laws.

Which, as it turns out, seems to me to be an excellent idea. Everybody start breaking those laws, particularly while the FEC doesn't have enough members to hold a meeting, and maybe we can get rid of those oppressive, even fascist laws in one fell swoop. No way the FEC is going to get around to ruling against the next President eh?!
