....it’s because the South was always Democrat and always had the largest population of blacks....after the civil rights movement, blacks began to vote in large numbers for the first time and white politicians needed their vote...so they began to offer them entitlements to get their vote....of course back then they didn’t call it the “black vote”....they called it “bloc voting”

I’ve never understood why blacks vote so solidly for Democrats in the first place. If we honestly reach a point where race doesn’t matter and we’re all color blind, then politics should be color blind too. If we’re color blind, then some blacks will be conservate, some moderate, some liberal, just as whites are all over the political spectrum.
