I also like the geology's rich and exotic terminology derived from various languages--for example, a'a and pahoehoe (Hawaiian), nues ardentes (French), horst and graben (German), caldera and cordillera (Spanish), etc.
My favorite term is wackestone for a carbonate rock texture that contains grains, such as shell fragments, but is mud supported. I think this term in german in origin.
