Here comes 2012, ready or not
The Washington Times ^ | April 25, 2008 | Wes Pruden

Innocents eager to flee the endless campaign of '08 can take heart. Some people are already gearing up for the campaign of 2012. And why not? We've rarely had a field of such likely one-termers as John McCain, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. President McCain would be pushing 76 in the summer of '12, and the prospect of a second term would be giving the envelope a mighty shove. Four years of a hip-hop White House or the shrill echoes of a nagging nanny would surely be enough to sate the appetite of the hardiest masochist.

Not always. JFK and RFK were pretty young when they forcibly assumed room temperature. But the saying does hold true for Big Head Ted, tho

Well at least it’s after the election so we get to see who the next President would have been. ;)

Does everyone believe the Mayan 2012 thing or is it just posted as a joke incessantly on this site.

I think a lot would have to happen in the next 4 years for this to be true according to end times prophecy and the Christian bible.

Anyone catch Glen Beck last night? /kh yi

I don't think anyone with a decent set of reasoning skills really believes it, but...you never know.

If I wake up after 6:11 am on Wednesday December 12th, 2012....then I'll know for sure it's bunk.

Speaking of Fred Thompson....I was on board, but in retrospect I think his message would have been too sobering. Not enough optimism. We'll never know exactly, since his campaign never got airbone.

I supported Mitt at first, and then again after Fred, and I was shocked to hear more virulent anti-mormon tirades as he was floated as just the VP !

Maybe Duncan needs a 4 year running start. Or Jindahl, or George Allen.

That is exactly what he was saying, the ancient calendars. It sure feels like it’s close, doesn’t it? And what better way to understand how the U.S. would be taken out of the equation than if Obama were President!

I'm sick of the lot of them from both sides,

Perhaps considering a third party is justified.

We're just finishing 8 years of a failed Republican administration which came on the heels of an even worse, criminal Democrat President.

Now we have 3rd tier candidates representing two failed parties and as druged-up hippies at Woodstock, the public can't wait to put one of these losers in the white house.

The American voters better get their head out of the sports pages or out of adult chat rooms and start paying attention because our country is going down the crapper.
