Looks like Julia Gorin is poised to be “the new Ann Coulter”, or “the next Ann Coulter”, or the “anti-Ann Coulter”.
Pure absurd nonsense. Not even a hint of shred of a notion of a possibility of a clue. Munich set the stage for the worst war in Human history. Kosovo is a no account 3rd world back water that no one other then the immediate players cares one iota about. Kosovo has set the stage for...a giant yawn from the rest of the world as it gets about doing it's business.
Perhaps Ann was just acknowledging that she isn’t that informed on the Kososvo situation. If that’s the case I applaud her for being honest enough, unlike liberals, to refuse to give an opinion on a subject she knows nothing about. I can find it in my heart to forgive Ann for not being fully informed on every single issue in the entire universe. (Oh, to be a liberal and know everything.)
Otherwise she is blowing smoke the wrong way. And Ann should be the last one to trash!
Interesting tactic. The author is just using some noteworthy conservative name (Coulter)to get people to read her larger point. Perhaps she thinks the NYT or AP will pick it up as a result.
Gorin’s obsession with Ann Coulter’s non-opinion begs the question: what does Gorin think the three most-likely candidates to occupy the Oval Office next January (none of whom gives a rats-behind what Ann thinks about this or any other issue) is likely to do about Kosovo, other than continue the current supine, counter-productive policy?
Gorin’s targeting Coulter is simply irrelevant to her concerns. Perhaps, like a child that’s afraid to face her true fears about a neighborhood bully, and so beats up on her inanimate dolly instead, Gorin is venting her frustration on a conveniently available individual, rather than dealing with the true object of her frustration: inability to bend the US and European powers to do her will in this matter.
I agree. I’m dating a Serbian woman and I’m pretty quiet on that subject simply because there are a lot of sore spots. Also I’ve got no real reason to talk about it.
Am I hearing you right? American Jews are responsible for the Balkans trouble?
Not on Kosovo, but here’s suggested reading about another a locale
not too far removed.
Unholy Terror: Bosnia, Al-Qa’ida, and the Rise of Global Jihad

We’ve got to have an opinion about everything these days?
How did you get that?
The U.S. is dismantling principles of the international order that have guided and protected statecraft for sixty years, which is CURRENTLY being used as a precedent from India to Sri Lanka to Catalonia in Spain to the Galilee in Israel to Quebec to Vermont,...
The author is certainly right but I don't know whey she wants Ann Coulter to opine on this. Maybe because she's more likely to give an opinion than Bush, Clinton or the State Dept. are likely to explain their treachery???
“She is under NO obligation to have an opinion on every single little pathetic item so 5th rate media twit is bent out of shape about”.
Right. Ann is undoubtedly smarter than the 5th rate media twit in that she chose to not comment on something she knows little about.
Am I hearing you right? American Jews are responsible for the Balkans trouble?
Oh I see. No the "they" in my post refered to the Clintoons.
Exactly. You almost have to wonder if she cooked this up with Ann. There seems to be no other way to get the press to cover this.
As soon as Julia announces in every article how American jews voted for The Clitoons and they are the basis for our Balkans trouble, then I will care what she has to say. That is why I asked, I must have misunderstood—it sounded like that you were saying that American jews elected the Clintons and that the Clintons were responsible for the Balkans trouble, therefore, American Jews are responsible...I believe I just misunderstood your point.
“I have no opinion.” is an okay answer.
It’s refreshing that a commentator anywhere would say that, instead of trying to make one up on the spot.
