do believe that Amnesty was Bushs issue, from the start.
I think McCain could take it or leave it. I dont think hell revisit it again.
Unlike Bush, McCain has gotten the message that people want border security first.
You do realize, that McCain has said just recently that he would sign the Amnesty if it made it to his desk as President, right?
Furthermore, It realy is a reach to blame this on Bush. The bill's name was called McCain-Kennedy and McCain has been emphatic and emotionally strident when expressing his support for this idea for the last 7 years.
There is absolutely no historical evidence to support your contention that he was just doing the bidding of GWB, None whatsoever.
As for your contention that he has gotten the message concerning border security, I wouldn't believe it for a second. He has not delineated whether he wants a hard fence or a technological fence. He has left it wide open as to what border security means and that is the favorite ploy of the open borders crowd. Promise anything and execute on nothing.

I have never seen McCain actually do a Mexican hat dance.
I have seen Bush do one, though.
If McCain wants to be a true National Defense president in more than just rhetoric, unlike Bush - and I do believe he does - then he must understand that securing our nations borders is part of that.
