Yeah, I stay in shallow water and only swim during the day. I feel more comfortable if there’s lots of dolphins around, cause I’ve heard that dolphins like to avoid shark-prone areas and sharks generally steer clear of large groups of dolphins because they’re more than a match for a shark put together.

A lot of shark attacks take place in about 4’ of water, from what I’ve read.

There were reports of quite a few seals in that area.

I suspect the shark took the guy for a seal.

The sharks usually migrate towards feeding grounds about this time of year.

Not exactly true, they feed off the same fish. Keeping at a reasonable distance they tend to mutually agree to ignore each other.
