“The main reason unemployment is down in OK is the oil boom.”

I’ve done some surfing to verify that statement but can not come up with any current numbers. Do you have a source for that statement?
Housing is not down near as much here as it is in most of the country, but it has slowed. Most builders would tell you it would have slowed anyway because the pool of workers has quickly dimished. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for the new law and I realize others will eventually take up the slack. Most just don’t realize how & whom these type of changes effect. We need rational imigration policy, make that: we should have had rational imigration policy in place years ago.
In other news, Okla is about to pass English as the official language. On the down side our governor, a super delegate came out in support of Obama this week even though the dems in the state voted heavily for Hillary. We obviously still have a long way to go.
I’ll admit that you got me on that one. A fairer claim would be that attributing lower unemployment to the immigration crackdown would be premature without also looking at the oil industry, labour laws (is OK a “right to work” state?), welfare policies, etc.
