Bell was supposed to be married at Community Baptist Church in Jamaica the same day of the shooting.

So his family, his girlfriend and his girlfriend's pastor keep saying.

It certainly would be the one possible way the PR team could gin up sympathy for his wild night out at a grimy strip club: it was a bachelor party!

However, his "fiancee" announced that she would officially marry him posthumously. This is legally possible, but she spoke too soon.

You can only marry someone posthumously if there has already been an official marriage license issued.

And there was no such marriage license.

Bell was killed at 4 AM on a Saturday morning. How was he possibly going to get married the following day when he had no marriage license and the city clerk's office was closed?

Is the pastor in the habit of violating city law by officiating at weddings that are not licensed?

The most likely explanation is that Sean Bell was out doing his usual weekend carousing with his best friends while his live-in girlfriend was home with his children. Not the most attractive personality and not one that could be used to pry millions from a civil jury - so the situation had to be spun, and spun hard, by Sharpton and the family's other advisers.

Had Bell and friends been questioned they may have even been arrested for solicitation of prostitution due to the nature and content of the conversations inside the strip joint according to accounts in the press. Maybe that is why the tried so hard to flee the scene. Especially if you are to me married the next day. Although I haven't heard anything about where the reception was to be, or the wedding party, or anything of that nature regarding the plans for the special day.

So it’s OK for a bunch of unannounced police officers to fire 50 bullets into a guy who goes to a strip club?

this is the first post on here that i think even mentions anything close to some facts here.

i don’t know if i buy your conspiracy theory here, but i see no mention of the details of the case and regardless of his marital status present or future he made a threatening move and was met with deadly force.

3 a.m. a drunk is getting ready to mow you down in a car....what would you do? cops were more than justified. the one person who could have saved sean bell is sean bell.

No marriage license? I hadn’t heard that little detail.

Now Bell’s father is going to file a $50 million lawsuit against the City.

So “Mrs.” Bell will not share in the loot, I presume, since she decided to live with and have a child with the victim without benefit of matrimony.

Too bad.
