Peace Terrorists Assault Iraq Vet & Family, Including Wife and Teenage Son
Recently, I wrote about Iraq War Vet Jason Swartout, who was assaulted by some 82 year old woman in the name of "peace." This veteran and his family have also had to endure their home being attacked on two occasions, their car vandalized and now, this past weekend, his wife and teenage son were attacked by some so-called "peace" protesters in Edinboro, PA.
Mel has a report from Dan Malone, NY State coordinator of Gathering of Eagles, and PeaceThugs has a report from Swartout's wife, Carrie, which follows below.
"We had a counter protest today in Edinboro. It was an Iraq war protest put together by Richard McVay. He was not present but there were about 10 college students, a couple professors and a group of Hillary supporters.
Anyways, Andrew went to the their protest site to videotape a couple odd displays they put up. They were beginning to get aggressive with Andrew simply because he was recording their protest. Jason and I went over to make sure he was ok.
Long story short one girl attacked me which turned into 2 girls attacking me. Jason pulled one off of me and then he was attacked and held down by 4-5 people getting punched in the head.
Meanwhile Andrew pulled the other girl off me and then she kicked me in the head with a great big boot. I called the cops and while we were waiting on them the girl that kicked me in the head went over to Andrew(14 years oldnand punched him right in the face. My 12, 9, and 7 year olds were standing across the street witnessing the whole thing.
Heres the kicker. The cops watched the video at the scene and no arrests were made. One of the cops was very aggressive toward us.
The girl later spit on Jason right in front of the cop and nothing was done about it.
Amazing! Right now I have a huge headache and knots coming up all over my head. Jason has scratch marks on his face not to mention someone stomping on his glasses when they fell off. Andrew has a red cheek."
Mr. Maloney of GOE writes:
"I think it is long past time for the people in this country to wake up to the violence of the peace movement. I think it is long past time for them to realize that not standing up to the excesses of violence will only beget more violence.
Last Fourth of July, in New Jersey, one of these peace people walked up to a young veteran of the War in Iraq and Afghanistan and shot him in the heart just because he was in the military. Last month another person or persons unknown detonated an improvised explosive device at the Armed Forces Recruiting Station in Times Square. Today a veteran and his family were assaulted in plain daylight on a public street in view of dozens of people and not one lifted a hand to help. This is not the America I grew up in. This is the Amerika the peace crowd is bringing to your town and neighborhood."
Where does it stop? What has to happen before authorities crack down on these so-called "peace" groups and their activities. I knew that a $25 fine given to Ann Dewalt last month for kicking Swartout was nothing less than a slap on the wrist. Shame on those police for doing nothing while this family was assaulted in full view of their younger children!
