I read your entire post, and I agree. I could be misleading others with that implication.

If one has to fill 35 mouths, the money doesn’t go very far anyway.

And I suspect that the ‘husbands’ who have a large amount of ‘wives’, are limited to the ‘loyal inner circle’.

I stated, on another thread, that Texas CPS and LE should only focus on the abuse, and sex with a minor issues.

You are right about the siphoning off of the funds, from what I have read. That is, I believe, a civil case between the Fund, and Jeffs. As it should be.

Could that be the major source of their funding?

So, we are back to square one. They got a lot of money from somewhere. Where and how they got it might involve further prosecution, but...so what.

No. This case is about finding the source of the illegal sex with a minor, which I would almost be sure is limited to inner circle, maybe as low as just one provable case.

Our society has been tolerant of polygamy, and even the ‘child-bride’ concept, as long as the ‘child’ is really of legal age in the state of marriage. But not if they are under legal age, and not a legal marriage, and against the will of the ‘child’.

If there is some other form of child abuse going on as well, such as ‘breaking the baby’, then that may involve a much larger group of FLDS members. Proof that the breaking thing causes harm to the baby, may be hard to prove legally, when there is an acceptable reason for the spread of retardation among such a limited breeding population.
