Broadway Baby was not mentioned during the Democratic infighting in Pennsylvania.
But Broadway Babyonce a chic children's boutique in Manhattan's Upper West Sideis the future, if Barack Obama is the presidential candidate in the fall.
This story involves two Chicagoans, former Weather Underground terrorist leaders Bernardine Dohrn and her husband, William Ayers, both Obama supporters who blessed his initial foray into politics. Last week, the unrepentant Ayers became a flash point in Obama's debate with Hillary Clinton.
"And what they [Weather Underground] did was set bombs and in some instances people died," said Clinton, sweetly playing the white terrorist card. "I know Sen. Obama is a good man and I respect him greatly, but I think this is an issue that certainly the Republicans will be raising."'
As president, Hillary's husband commuted the prison sentences of two other Weather Underground members and of Puerto Rican terrorists, so her scolding was quite unconvincing.
Obama insists such gotcha politics is beneath our dignity. But no association is above question for a candidate, whether Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Illinois political fixer Tony Rezko, or Ayers and Dohrn.
Clinton and Republican John McCain have suffered scrutiny. The only one treated as an infant in swaddling clothes by the national mediauntil quite recentlyis Sen. Change.
So let's wait until Labor Day, when Broadway Baby may become a catchphrase. Here's why: According to a 1982 New York Times report, Broadway Baby was implicated in an investigation of a series of violent armed robberies in New Yorknetting more than $2 million over a two-year spancommitted by former Black Panthers and Weather Underground members in the early '80s.

Is that an image of obama with Sara Jane Olsen?
I have no idea. What makes you think it's her?
Don't forget, that *itch was in prison for a long time. She was mistakenly released a few weeks ago but was immediately put back in.
Nice find! Would you mind it I add it to my collection (below)?
I already have Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn and Obama speaking at the other event in 2002, but I didn't yet get around to tracking down this one you posted.
Here's what I've compiled so far...
Fortunately, as an organization, the Weather Underground didn't kill anyone, other than three of their own in the NYC townhouse explosion. But they definitely tried.
From David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com/DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
March 6, 1970: "three members of the Weather Underground accidentally killed themselves in a Manhattan townhouse while attempting to build a powerful bomb they had intended to plant at a social dance in Fort Dix, New Jersey -- an event that was to be attended by U.S. Army soldiers. Hundreds of lives could have been lost had the plot been successfully executed."

"The bomb was intended to be planted at a non-commissioned officer's dance at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
The bomb was packed with nails to inflict maximum casualties upon detonation."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weatherman_(organization)#Chronology_of_events
From David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com/DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
"On October 20, 1981 -- long after the Weather Underground had ceased to exist -- former Underground member Kathy Boudin and her soon-to-be husband, David Gilbert, were accomplices in the robbery of a Brinks armored car in Nyack, New York. In the course of that heist, one Brinks guard and two Nyack police officers were murdered. Also involved in the robbery was Judith Clark, who had served a prison term for her participation in the 'Days of Rage.' Boudin hired attorney Leonard Weinglass, a law partner of her father, to defend her in the case.
Weinglass arranged for a plea bargain whereby Boudin pled guilty to one count of felony murder and robbery, in exchange for a prison sentence of twenty years to life. She was paroled in 2003, however, over strong opposition from New York State police. Gilbert remains in New York's Attica State Prison, having refused to bargain.
In 1985, former Weather Underground members Susan Rosenberg (who also was implicated in the Nyack robbery) and Linda Evans were apprehended while transporting 740 pounds of explosives which they both acknowledged were slated for use in additional bombings. Rosenberg was sentenced to 58 years in prison, Evans 40; President Bill Clinton pardoned both women in January 2001."

The 1981 Former Weather Underground members/Black Liberation Army Brinks truck robbery/murder:
"David J. Gilbert, 37, rented the vehicle that same day in the Bronx. Gilbert was a long time member of the Weather Underground and a fugitive from the state of Colorado where he faced charges of assault and possession of explosives. The passenger in the front seat of the U Haul was Kathy Boudin, on the run from the law since the townhouse explosion in 1970. The couple had dropped off their one-year old child with a babysitter in the morning and was waiting for the return of the red van."
"In the back of the red van were Cecilio 'Chui' Ferguson, 35, Samuel Brown AKA Solomon Bouines, 41, Samuel Smith AKA Mtayari Sundiata, 37, and Donald Weems AKA Kuwasi Balagoon, 35. There were others present, but it has never been proven who, or how many. All the men in back of the van were members of a group they called 'The Family.' Most of them had ties to the Black Panthers or the Black Liberation Army, radical political groups that had many violent confrontations with police during the 1970s."
"At approximately 3:55 p.m., Paige, a 24-year Brink's veteran and his partner, Joe Trombino, 48, exited the doors to the Mall rolling out the moneybags on a hand truck. They walked over to the Brink's truck and began to load up the bags onto the rear deck. Simultaneously, the red van pulled up and the rear doors swung open. One of the suspects, armed with a shotgun, ran to the front of the truck and immediately fired two blasts directly at the bulletproof windshield. The guard in the front seat ducked just in time and was unhurt.
Another suspect, wearing a ski mask, opened up with his M-16 automatic rifle before his feet even hit the pavement, striking Paige in the neck, arm and chest. He was killed instantly.
Joe Trombino fired just one shot before he was hit several times in his upper arm and shoulder. The bullets all but severed his arm off his shoulder. "I've got no arm!" he screamed. But Trombino would survive that day, only to perish years later in another terrorist attack at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001."

FrontPageMagazine.com | Monday, September 17, 2001:
ON THE MORNING OF THE ATTACKS on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, along with a million other readers of the New York Times including many who would never be able to read the paper again, I opened its pages to be confronted by a color photo showing a middle-aged couple holding hands and affecting a defiant look at the camera. The article was headlined in an irony that could not have been more poignant, "No Regrets For A Love Of Explosives."
The couple pictured were Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, former leaders of the 1960s Weather Underground, Americas first terrorist cult. One of their bombing targets, as it happened, was the Pentagon.
"I dont regret setting bombs," Ayers was quoted in the opening line of the Times profile; "I feel we didnt do enough." In 1969, Ayers and his wife convened a "War Council" in Flint Michigan, whose purpose was to launch a military front inside the United States with the purpose of helping Third World [Maoist-communist] revolutionaries conquer and destroy it.
Taking charge of the podium, dressed in high-heeled boots and a leather mini-skirt her signature uniform Dorhn incited the assembled radicals to join the war against "Amerikkka" and create chaos and destruction in the "belly of the beast."
Her voice rising to a fevered pitch, Dohrn raised three fingers in a "fork salute" to mass murderer Charles Manson whom she proposed as a symbol to her troops. Referring to the helpless victims of the Manson Family as the "Tate Eight" (the most famous was actress Sharon Tate) Dohrn shouted:
"Dig It. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victims stomach! Wild!"
(big snip)
Today William Ayers is not merely an author favored by the New York Times, but a Distinguished Professor of Education at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
His Lady Macbeth [Bernardine Dohrn] is not merely a lawyer, but a member of the American Bar Associations governing elite, as well as the director of Northwestern Universitys Children and Family Justice Center.

"During his fugitive years, Mr. Ayers said, he lived in 15 states, taking names of dead babies in cemeteries who were born in the same year as he. He describes the typical safe house: there were usually books by Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh, and Che Guevara's picture in the bedroom; fermented Vietnamese fish sauce in the refrigerator, and live sourdough starter donated by a Native American that was reputed to have passed from hand to hand over a century."

"Mr. Ayers, who in 1970 was said to have summed up the Weatherman philosophy as:
'Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at,' is today distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
And he says he doesn't actually remember suggesting that rich people be killed or that people kill their parents, but 'it's been quoted so many times I'm beginning to think I did,' he said."

"He also writes about the Weathermen's sexual experimentation as they tried to 'smash monogamy.' The Weathermen were 'an army of lovers,' he says, and describes having had different sexual partners, including his best male friend."

From David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com/DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
"FBI files from 1976, recently made public under the Freedom of Information Act, confirm the connections between Weatherman, Havana, and Moscow.
Weatherman leaders like Mark Rudd traveled illegally to Havana in 1968 to engage in terrorist training. There, camps set up by Soviet KGB Colonel Vadim Kotchergine were educating Westerners both in Marxist philosophy and urban warfare."

Bill Ayers, TODAY, April 6, 2008: He's demanding to debate communism vs capitalism! Yet Hannity and nearly every other conservative commentator, FAILS to mention that these people were and still are communist revolutionaries! Instead, they describe them as simply "domestic terrorists".
"Imperialism. Im against it, and if Sean Hannity and others were honest, this is the ground they would fight me on. Capitalism played its role historically and is exhausted as a force for progress: built on exploitation, theft, conquest, war, and racism, capitalism and imperialism must be defeated and a world revolutiona revolution against war and racism and materialism, a revolution based on human solidarity and love, cooperation and the common good must win.
We begin by releasing our most hopeful dreams and our most radical imaginations: a better world is both possible and necessary.

Note: Ayers is very likely quoting Bob Avakian, chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party, with the phrase 'both possible and necessary' in regards to a communist overthrow of the US government. See these Yahoo search results for "bob avakian" + "possible and necessary"--Eye On The Left

lol! #24 was my post. But you're right. Forgeting about that photo caption (I'm a little out of it right now) I assumed she was captured and imprisoned decades ago. However, according to David Horowitz's site (below), she was only arrested in 1999. Perhaps she was out on bail when that 2000 photo with Bernardine Dohrn was taken? In any case, she was in prison since at least 2000. So if Obama did meet with her sometime before that, ie, while she was still on the run from the FBI, that would be BIG news indeed.
PROFILE: SARA JANE (A.K.A. KATHLEEN SOLIAH) OLSON
*Onetime member of the Symbionese Liberation Army
*Participated in a 1975 bank robbery in which one innocent person was killed
Participated in several 1975 bombing attempts *Was arrested in 1999 and sentenced to 20 years to life in prison
Sara Jane Olson (known as Kathleen Soliah until 1977) is a former member of the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA), a revolutionary terrorist group founded by ex-convict Donald DeFreeze.
On May 17, 1974, DeFreeze and five of his cohorts, including Soliahs best friend Angela Atwood, were killed in a shootout with police in their Los Angeles hideout. Soliah organized a memorial rally at Ho Chi Minh Park in Berkeley the following month, where she accused 500 police officers of having murdered Atwood.
The surviving members of the SLA came to offer Soliah comfort and support, and she subsequently joined their movement. According to CourtTV.com, Soliah stole wallets to make fake IDs, helped plan and carry out bank robberies, and participated in several bombing attempts in 1975.
Soliah also took part in the robbery of the Crocker National Bank in Caarmichael, California on April 21, 1975, during which bank customer Myrna Opsahl was shot to death. Four months later, Soliah planted bombs under two LAPD cruisers; the explosives, however, failed to detonate.
After that, Soliah went underground and ultimately ended up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, under the alias "Sara Jane Olson" in 1977. She met Fred Peterson in 1979 and married him the following year. Together they had three daughters. Olson became the quintessential soccer mom, running her children to school activities and participating in many community service projects and leftist causes.
When Olson was finally found by the FBI in 1999, she was arrested and brought to trial for her long-ago crimes of explosives possession and attempted murder. Patty Hearsts testimony helped convict Olson, who was sentenced to serve 20 years to life in prison (a sentence that was later reduced to 14 years).
Then on November 7, 2002, Olson and three other former SLA members -- William Harris, Emily Montague (Harris) and Michael Bortin -- pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges in the death of Opsahl. The court added six more years to Olsons sentence.
On March 17, 2003, Olson was granted early release based on good-behavior credits she had earned by doing jobs at the prison. Four days later, however, she was re-arrested at the Los Angeles Airport after California correctional authorities concluded she had been mistakenly released due to an administrative error.
Said Scott Kernan, the correction department's chief deputy secretary of adult operations: "Sara Jane Olson's case is extremely complicated, given the amount of changes to the sentencing laws that have occurred over the last 30 years. Upon request for review, [Corrections Department] case records staff immediately reevaluated this sentence calculation and, in coordination with our legal affairs unit and the Board of Parole hearings, has revised the sentence accordingly to ensure that all appropriate time is served."
It was determined that Olson would not be eligible for release until March 17, 2009.
The story of Olsons involvement with the SLA is told in Sharon D. Hendrys book Soliah: The Sara Jane Olson Story.

Right again. I actually didn't read the entire article. I'll send a note to the website. Hopefully they will get the note and correct it. Thanks.
I pinged you because the image of Olsen and Dohrn came from your link. I'm beginning to think that woman with obama must have been someone else...I was suspicious however when I found the link had been scrubbed by Google...nothing on the Wayback either...
I'm an Australian. That Olsen can attend ANYTHING and be pictured at a conference - with her history - just doesn't compute in my mind. I will search some more and see what I can find by way of images of Olsen to make a comparison.
Good luck. But her name is Olson , not Olsen.

OK, now who is ‘Warren’ who wrote the above in a blog in 2005? Have you any idea?

Never heard of her. But I just found this (below). I'm not sure if 'warren' and 'red rabbit' are the same person or not. It's past 2am where I am and I need to get zzzzzzz-ing. Have a good night. Talk to you soon.

When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the livingroom of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. They were launching him--introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread. His "bright eyes and easy smile" struck me as contrived and calculated--maybe because I was supporting another candidate. Since then, I've never heard him say anything new or earthshaking, or support anything that would require the courage of his convictions. I only voted for him in this last race--because his opponent was a pinhead. And I've been mostly alone in my views. But maybe that's changing.
Thanks, Barack. By voting to confirm Condoleezza Rice for Secretary of State you confirmed my opinion of you as someone who will not come through when it counts. You voted with the entire Republican membership rather than your compadre, Dick Durbin, and the man you supported for president, John Kerry. Your sense of collegiality is ridiculous under the circumstances.
What are all those people who thought you walked on water thinking now? I'm just wondering who's going to whisper in President CandyAss's ear when Condo's busy playing Secretary of State.

Now I am convinced that woman with obama IS Sara Jane Olson, look at the two images in profile in my previous post. Olson and Dohrn, Olson and obama. Birds of a feather, and Ayers makes a foursome.
I'm not so sure about that. Photos can be very deceiving. But if it does turn out that he did meet with her...while she was hiding from the feds........
sorry, gotta get to sleep. g'night.
Another issue I have is how did the University of Chicago, knowing Ayre’s background, hire him in the FIRST place?
I think he’s at University of Illinois, Chicago rather than the U. of Chicago (he’s been on panels at the U. of Chicago but as far as I’ve seen he hasn’t been on the actual faculty there)..... but still the question remains, why would they hire an unrepentant terrorist?
A lot of universities are so infiltrated by the hard left that he probably had various friends and allies already in the faculty and administration who helped him. I recall an article for which the reporter tried to get that question answered from the U. of Illinois and the spokesdolt merely said the President and Dean from that time were no longer at the university so they couldn’t answer the question, which of course was a total cop-out since there must still be SOMEONE there from the 1980s who knows what went down..... and any faculty appointment process at a major university has to be very thoroughly documented so there must be all sorts of files (unless someone has deep-sixed them).
Don’t know if anyone has tried to track down that President or Dean, but I doubt they’ll say much since it will look so bad...... they’ll just say he was highly recommended or some such drivel.
