Apparently Hollywood feels the necessity every 20 years or so to trot out the "Hey, Jesus is a feeeeeling, man, a way to live, not an actual propitiation for our sins."

These movies always cause a lot of stir, and then they tank.

Knowing these movies fail financially at the box office, we must therefore conclude there's another agenda behind these films.

Hollywood's #1 priority is disinformation. Raising capital and providing witless entertainment are #2 and #3, respectively.
