Team,
Thanks to a lot of hard work on the part of a lot of campaign volunteers and Peg Luksiks organizational and team building skills, it looks like we are back on the ballot. Thank you all for all the enthusiasm, phone calls, footwork, and prayers. It would not have been possible without you! We needed 1000 votes to be listed on the ballot for the General Election in November.
Here are the preliminary and partial reports so far:

Hiya, HC!
Welcome, you’re on it now.
I am stunned by the CBS piece. Stunned. Perhaps the Democrats have decided its time to punch his ticket.
excellant news. I’m not from Pennsylvania, but will be donating to his campaign.
murtha must go.
People will turn on anyone when they see that it is in their own best interest, even if they have been stupid.
This is a bad thing about humanity, but it also is part of the survival instinct.
LT. Col. Bill has to prove to the Johnstown folks, that Mr. Murtha really never has had them as his priority, and it shows.
Yahoo!
That’s exactly what this thing needs, NATIONAL attention and support.
Exactly.
Dethroning Murtha needs to be a priority. We have so little control, but this is something we can do!
We got rid of Tom Dashcle, we can get rid of this schmuck as well.
They did that here in Florida against Harris and Senator Nelson thnx the Gop and Jeb
Great news, jaz!
Every Conservative, including those here at FR, should be supporting conservative candidates wherever they are running. Refuse to give money to any party or to support any RINO/liberals. Support those who share our values no matter what the odds are against them. If Conservatives concentrated their efforts on conservative candidates instead of "going along" with RINOs that the Republican Party wants elected or "dropping out" of supporting anyone because no conservative is running in their area, they can make a real difference in the elections.
In 2006 some good conservatives lost and it was partly blamed on the Republican parties lack of support for them. Screw the Republican party. If Conservatives across the Country throw their support to only conservative candidates they will have more money than any liberal they may be running against.
We have to get back to supporting candidates who reflect our values and drop all this crap about "holding your nose" and supporting candidates we know don't support our values.
We can bring this Country back onto the "right" path but only by fighting, not by capitulating to the Republican "leadership" nor by "going along" with the least bad candidate. National candidates in every state affect me just as much as those in my own state. I will support (with my limited abilities) conservatives running for congress anywhere in my Country. Rinos and liberals, even local ones, should starve.
Exactly the same thing that they did to Diana Irey!!!
I believe that "Bob" creature continues to be the state GOP chairman.
Thank you!
BTTT!

Murthas GOP opponent (Russell) tossed off ballot
**************************************************
Republican William Russell knew that he faced an uphill battle when he decided to challenge longtime Democratic U.S. Rep. John Murtha.
Now, Russells battle may have ended before a single vote has been cast.
A Commonwealth Court judge on Tuesday ruled that Russell does not have enough valid petition signatures to appear on the April 22 primary ballot.
Russell, a veteran of both Iraq wars who quit his Army job and moved to Johnstown to run against Murtha, said he will not appeal.
I dont have the resources to fight a protracted court battle, the former Washington, D.C., resident said.
With no other Republicans filing to run in the 12th Congressional District, Russell still has a chance to win his partys nomination.
He would need at least 1,000 voters to write his name on primary ballots, and he would have to be the top vote-getter among any write-in candidates.
Russell is not sure whether he will campaign for write-in votes.
Well make that decision in the coming days, he said.
The challenge to Russells petitions came from two local Republicans and was backed by Murthas campaign.
**************************************************
Back in 2006, Diana Irey was a VERY strong candidate, but she could not overcome Murtha's pork and state and local GOP indifference to her campaign.
