Most of this stuff is assembled* in China. But there is American-grade Chinese-assembled stuff and Chinese-grade Chinese-assembled stuff. The Chinese stuff we get stateside is superior to the Chinese stuff sold in China.

* Because Chinese costs are low. When those costs go up, US manufacturers will move their plants elsewhere. Many of them moved to China from other more prosperous Asian countries. The idea that we are developing a dependency on China is, unfortunately for Chinese, wrong. After China, there's always India, Sri Lanka - you get the idea.
