During Obama's recent debate with Hillary, Obama said the following: [Link Below]
1.) "This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood..." (Red Herring)
2.) "...a professor of English in Chicago who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from." (Red Herring. Political Spin).
Ayers hosted a fundraiser for Obama when Obama was running for the Illinois Senate. Obama attended and was in Ayers house. Ayers introduced Obama to the Hyde Park community.
3.) "He's not someone who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis." (Red Herring). Obama is still friends with Ayers, regardless of how often they talk.
4.) "And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn't make much sense." (Red Herring).
Obama doesn't just know him, he is still friends with him. While these "detestable acts" were committed in the past, you are friends now with the man who committed these acts, and apparently these acts weren't detestable enough for you to cut off your friendship with Ayers.
5.) "The fact is, is that I'm also friendly with Tom Coburn, one of the most conservative Republicans in the United States Senate, who during his campaign once said that it might be appropriate to apply the death penalty to those who carried out abortions. Do I need to apologize for Coburn's statements? Because I certainly don't agree with those either."
(Moral Equivalence Straw Man. False Analogy. Diversionary Tactic).
Tom Coburn proposed legislation. He did not admit to bombing the Pentagon, a NY PD, etc.
Apologize for Coburn? Tom Coburn did not help kick off your running for the Illinois Senate, and introduce you to the Hyde Park community.
"I certainly don't agree with those statements either"? Ayers did not just make verbal statements. Ayers admitted to acts, acts of bombing the Pentagon, a NY PD, etc. Big difference.
Obama, here, and at other occasions, has tried to make it appear that he can be friends with both sides, even when he makes a false comparison. He's trying to make it appear that he can unify people and bring them together.
Obama is trying to cloud things up in an attempt to hide his connections to left-wing radicals.

Concerning what I wrote above:
These are the rhetorical tricks that I have noticed Obama using on more than one occasion. Point these out, and you defeat Obama’s argumentative tricks. Obama is smart, but he’s not that smart.
As well we ALL should.
I agree. I just voted for him here in PA anyway. As long as Bill and Hill are on the planet, he can do no better than third place on the all-time a**hole race. I will be switching my registration back tomorrow.
You can tell a man by the company that he keeps. His company seems to be terrorist, racist, and America haters.
Good to see McCain “grow a pair”.

Obama and his media sycophants are also trying to conceal the most damaging evidence that his relationship with Ayers was more than that of a mere acquaintance. Recall the two panels that he and Ayers spoke on together? Turns out that Michelle Obama herself put one of them together, when she was an assistant dean at the U of Chicago.
IOW, the Obamas invited Ayers to be co-panelist with Barack, to address “Should a Child Ever Be Called a Super-Predator?” Obviously Ayers supports Barack’s efforts to stop the govt from trying minors as adults, no matter how heinous their crimes.
Andrew McCarthy wrote all this up in a piece on NRO. It’s called The Company He Keeps. I’m sure it’s posted here, just do a search by title.
McCain and his staff should hang on this like a bull dog.
It conincides with, among so many other things including the reluctance of Obama to observe flag etiquette by placing his hand over his heart during the Pledge....the rants by Wright against the U. S.....the lack of pride by Obama’s wife in the U. S.....and so on.
