Good morning!

Does God NEED worship from us?

I would have to say, based on my limited instincts that the answer to that question is 'no', God needs nothing from us, for we are His creations, and He no more needs our worship than WE need worship from an ant farm of our own construction.

SHOULD we worship Him? I say absolutely, without a doubt.

MUST we worship Him? No, God created us with free will and we can accept Him or reject Him as we please. Is one choice good for us, and the other 'not so good'?

Definitely. We human creatures have a spiritual need within us to be greater than what we are, to advance from what we were when we began, to become meaningful, to find the answer to that one Question, 'where did we come from?' and 'Who is responsible for our creation?' The Bible states that God created man 'in His image', we all have that spark of divinity within ourselves, some would call it the soul, some would say 'conscience', some might say self-awareness. The fact is, God created us to fellowship with Him. As simple and straightforward as that is, many people just can't wrap their minds around the concept, that God wanted company, not just the created angels of Heaven, and we were created in His Image for that express purpose.

Unfortunately for us, our ancestors sinned and rebelled against the Almighty, *fortunately* God chose to save us from ourselves, and laid down His Life for our own, reconciling us unto Himself.

As for God being 'too busy' with one activity or another, there is no such thing. If God is NOT omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent, then He cannot be God.

And He is.

Now so far as those billion Chinese are concerned, that is where the Great Commission comes in, from Matthew 28 16:20,

"Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Him, they worshipped Him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in Heaven and on Earth has been given unto Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, yea, even unto the very end of the age."

It was clearly the intention and commandment of Jesus to preach His Word throughout all the Earth, to evangelize those in ignorance, in darkness, those who were and are *lost* spiritually.

It's good of you to be concerned about those billion Chinese and I'm sure that God has it all worked out for them, but the critical question for you my FRiend, is where do YOU stand with the Lord Jesus? You know Him don't you? He is one of those 'kooks' Who said in John 14:6,

"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one cometh unto the Father except by Me"

Jesus Christ was either the greatest liar and fraud in all of human history, a charlatan unmatched by any con man before or since, OR:

He was and is exactly what He says He is, the embodiment and manifestation of Almighty God in human form, the Son of God, the Saviour of all mankind, Who died for our sins that we might live, and will soon come again, just as He promised, and there is Salvation in no other name but His.

You're a doubter, and I understand and respect that. Thomas, one of the Disciples also doubted (resulting in the phrase 'doubting Thomas') because he said he would not believe that Jesus had arisen from the dead until he put his fingers into the wounds of Christ to see for himself, and I've personally always thought that Thomas got a bum rap for that, and that he might actually have been trying to be obedient to what Jesus had warned them about before His death in Matthew 24:

"the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, "Take heed that no man lead you astray. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray."

It is my perception FRiend, that you want to know the Truth.

Good News, the Truth begins with Jesus Christ, and having faith in Him.

You are in my prayers.

Sorry, haven’t logged on in a while. A nice response and all, but it’s still all a man-made construct. Men wrote the bible afterall. I have no problem with folks that worship Jesus or Buddha or Ra or Vishnu or the Flying Spaghetti Monster. If you get something out of it that’s swell.

But religion is a man-made construct to control the masses and give many living in abject poverty and filth something to cling to. But that’s ok. We have free-will right? I can sleep late on Sunday and watch football, or put on scratchy church pants and go and judge other people’s clothes for an hour or so.

I figure live a good life, don’t intentionally harm anyone and mind your own business. If you see god in the giant tree in your backyard and want to worship that-knock yourself out. If you see him as Jesus, that’s fine too.

Or...maybe God is a vengful god and doesn’t like it when you don’t worship him. Look what he did a few years ago to all those people in India and Thailand who’d never heard of him - he sent a big tsunami to obliterate a couple hundred thousand people. He must of had a good reason I guess.
