Gee, can't imagine why some people on Freerepublic might find his comments off-putting seeing how some statements fit right along with the communist manifesto.....Let's revisit...

"I want to spend the rest of my life as a nomad, not owning land or food or anything individually but collectively owning it and sharing it with everyone in the universe."

Granted the guy hurt nobody but the last time I looked this was not a socialist or communist site so I can see why some would take offense, and as Christianity is the base this country was founded on and why we actually have those freedoms we enjoy (read the founding fathers and where they came up with their ideas) you will run into Christians in the only party that is somewhat still trying to follow the Constitution. When they leave is when I would worry. I find your comments more disgusting.

Sharing what you have with others is generosity and IMHO a good thing. Sharing what other people have with others is socialism and again IMHO evil.

I can understand why someone would take offense as well, but that reaction would be uncalled for, IMO. This nomad didn't appear to have any interest in trying to change the rest of society. He simply chose to separate himself from it. Nothing wrong with that.
