They are in a quandry. They don’t like polygamy but they have to accept that it was practiced by the Dear Leader. Condemning the practice would put them in danger of criticizing the founders.
It’s a hard line to walk.
I'm afraid the F(lds) is so "outcast" no one is going to be able to tend to their spiritual needs, particularly not folks with a history of and a religious hangup over polygamy.

I don't speak up when people point out errors by the Prebyterian Church - USA. They aren't my church. I'm Prebyterian Church in America. I only speak up if someone mistakenly attributes a bad act from PCUSA to the PCA church.
I remember in my college job, I had a co-worker who was in I believed the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He kept telling me they were "not the Mormons". Later I was reminded of that when that TV show "Dinasaurs" was on, with the baby who called the dad "Not the Mommy".
