Why shouldn't the Chinese use Linux? It can do everything that Windows can do at a fraction of the cost for them. It makes perfect sense to me. I have found over the years that Windows enthusiasts will pay an exorbitant amount of dollars just so they can click on a few cartoonish looking windows. I never could figure that out, but always went along to get along.

SUSE LES is really good stuff. And the Desktop product with Open Office et al easily substitutes for any Windoze unit. Both are cheaper than MS, and you don’t have every Juan, Ricardo and Achmed writing virus programs to attack you.

The alliance was seen as unusual because Linux has long been one of the biggest competitive threats to Microsoft Windows. Ah, but Linux Vista is just around the corner! ;)
